Mary Jo Glass

I remember Mary Jo so well. She was kind and sweet and I enjoyed her company. Rest in peace.

Mary Jo was alwys such a sweet person.  Not a mean bone in her body.  Always had a smile on her face.

Mary Praetzel (Praetzellis)

I first saw Mary Jo Glass at the corner of Valota and Hampton where many of us caught the 7:30 bus to Sequoia freshman year. Mary Jo was not an attractive girl. Even my adolescent insecurity could not argue that she and not I would be the plainest girl in school that day. I sometimes wondered how she made herself get on that bus each day; high school was not kind to those who were different. I wondered how she came to be so; I wondered about her life. I was never mean, but I never said a kind word either, as if she might be contagious. Many years later, my mother frequently mentioned Mary Jo and what a kind, lovely person she was. I never asked how she had come to know this or remarked in any way. I had been shallow and we probably both knew it. Mary Jo tread the hard road; she did it with dignity. And I salute her.

Roseann Mary Reilly (Soulides)

Mary Jo was one of my best friends in High School.  We always were together.  Mary Jo, Mildred and me (Roseann).  She was always very sweet. She once told me we I came back in town one year, that when she would go to Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma,  and put flowers for her mom.  She alwlays put a Rose on my Father's grave, and she said he was buried by her Uncle.  And She said you never forget Mr. Reilly.  The most sweetest jester anyone could have done for me.  Truly have missed Mary Jo and her kindness.
